How HanyuHub handles your data with a strict privacy-first approach.

At HanyuHub (www.hanyuhub.com), we believe your language learning journey should be private. We operate on a simple principle: we collect only the absolute minimum information necessary to run the service, and we never track you across the web.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal data beyond what is required to authenticate your identity, process subscription payments, and save your learning progress.
A. Authentication & Account Data
When you sign in using an OAuth provider (such as Google or Microsoft), we store:
- Your unique authentication ID (
User UUID) - Your email address (managed securely for account identification, billing receipts, and connecting with tutors)
- Your display name and profile avatar choice
B. Payment & Subscription Data
All payment processing is handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe.
- We never store or receive your full credit card numbers or sensitive banking details on HanyuHub servers.
- We only store a anonymous Stripe Customer Identifier and your active subscription status (e.g.,
trialing,active, orcanceled).
C. Learning Statistics & Study Progress
To allow you to resume your study sessions across devices, we store your learning statistics on our database:
- Saved vocabulary, bookmarks, and self-learned character states
- Completed daily tasks, lesson attempts, and test scores
- Aggregated study time and login streak counters
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- NO Tracking Cookies: We do not use third-party tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking scripts.
- NO Data Harvesting: We do not track your location, browsing history outside HanyuHub, or device telemetry.
- NO Data Selling: We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or study data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To deliver a fast, reliable service, we rely on trusted infrastructure providers:

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion
You retain full control over your data at all times.
- Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated study data at any time directly in the app via Account Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account.
- Immediate Erasure: Upon deletion, your profile, flashcard stats, learning history, and active subscriptions are permanently deleted from our database.
5. Subscriptions & Billing Data
If you sign up for a 14-day free trial or an active paid plan:
- You may cancel your subscription at any time without penalty.
- If you cancel during an active billing cycle or free trial, you will retain full access to HanyuHub until the conclusion of that paid period or trial.
